I LOVE the colors in this handmade
designer apron which I call "Kiwi." It is made from 100
% cotton calico fabric. Its deep green pockets trimmed in black rick-rack
bring out the little green stems and pretty yellow flowers on the black
fabric giving it an attractive striking appearance. The waistband
and long ties are made from a contrasting black fabric. |
|

"Shimmering Gold" Our
Shimmering Gold apron is very made of elegant shinny gold fabric trimmed
in red and green plaid. The waistband and long ties are made from the same
pretty fabric.

"Little
Princess Helping Apron"-This adorable apron is
for little princesses who like to help out in kitchen duties. It has a
scalloped hem, heart pocket, long ties, is fully lined, and is trimmed in
white eyelet. It is made from 100 % cotton fabric of pink and white wavy
stripes with stars and circles. It's perfect for your little princess and
fits sizes 6-12. |
| The apron came about
because of practical necessity. In years gone by, people didn't have the
luxury of owning a large wardrobe. Washing and drying clothing was not
done on a frequent basis. So aprons served a practical purpose of covering
up the dress underneath to project it from soiling. This made washing much
easier. The apron would be washed every couple of days but the dress or
clothing underneath did not have to be washed as much, perhaps maybe once
a week. Click here for
more apron history information. |
