How to make a Button Frame

Make your own shabby chic button picture frame

Make your own shabby chic button frame.

After seeing a shabby chic store selling a cottage style shabby chic button frame for $35.00...(Are you kidding me?) I said to myself I have to share on my website how to make one...You can make it for pennies!

This awesome shabby chic button frame is so easy to make.  All you need is an old frame, paint, buttons, and glue.

You can find old frames at yard sales for 10 cents, and you can find bags of buttons for a quarter!  I am sure you have some type of paint laying around the house somewhere...

Clean off the old frame and make sure there is no dirt or dust on it. Make sure the frame is nice and dry.  Paint the frame your choice of color. I went with the shabby chic look...a cream color.
I only did one coat because I am going for the "old" shabby look and I want some of the darker old  color in the background on the frame to come through the paint, which it does with just doing one coat.
When the paint is dry arrange the buttons on the frame the way you want them to be and hot glue in place.
You can add embellishments if you want to like; lace, flowers, and ribbon is you prefer.

Your shabby chic button frame is done and ready for you to add a photo to it.
