How to make a Vintage Button
Heart
Pillow
Sewing for Valentine's
Day
Add some Vintage Valentine
charm to your home with this sweet country heart pillow that is super easy
and very quick to make.
The only supplies you will
need for this sweet country heart pillow are: two small pieces of pink
fabric (about 7"), and red buttons.
(I coffee-stained my pink polka-dot fabric to
make my heart pillow look vintage/primitive.)
First you will need a heart pattern.
Draw yourself a heart about 6"X6". Pin and cut out 2 hearts. (You are
welcome to copy and paste my pattern to the left. Make sure you enlarge it
to get it around 6".)
Place the two fabric hearts
pretty sides together and pin around the outer edge. You will need to
leave a 3" opening for stuffing. Place double pins where you want to start
and stop to remind you not to sew there, as shown in the photo.
Stitch around the outer edge
using your pressure foot as your guide. Don't forget to leave the opening.
Stuff your heart with
fiberfill.
Move and adjust the stuffing
so your heart looks evenly stuffed. Hand stitch the opening closed.
