How to make Fabric Easter Eggs / How to Sew Decorative Fabric Eggs

Sewing for Easter & Spring Project

How to Sew Fabric Decorative Eggs for Easter time.

These adorable fabric Easter eggs are fast and easy to sew together. You can be as creative as you want to be. When you're done, place them in a basket with Easter grass. Happy Spring Sewing!

How to sew a fabric egg.

Let's Make the Pattern First:

Using an 8.5"X11" piece of computer paper, sketch a simple egg pattern about the size you want your fabric egg to be.

Label your pattern and always keep your patterns when you are done using them. You never know when you may need it again.

Pin and cut out your egg pieces. You will need two for each egg. (One for the front and one for the back.)
Now it's time to decorate the front of your egg using a zigzag stitch to attach your trimmings.

Save the back of the egg for later.

You can copy mine, but try and create some on your own. We'd love to see the fabric eggs you made. Send us a photo!

Use a close zigzag stitch to attach your trimmings and embellishments on the egg front.

Be creative!

Straight stitch around the egg using the pressure foot as your guide. Don't forget to leave the opening.

Your pretty decorated fabric eggs are ready to be put in a basket and welcome friends and family for the spring weather and Easter holiday.
