How to Make a String of Fabric
Hearts & Beads...an easy sewing
craft project for kids to make |
|

This cute and easy
sewing craft project can be hung anywhere to add color and fun to your
room. |
|

|
First
make yourself a heart pattern as you see to the left. I just drew a
heart on a piece of computer paper for my pattern. My heart is about 7".
You can make your string of hearts
as long as you want. You will need to cut out TWO of each heart in
the different color fabrics. I decided on 6 hearts for mine.
Pin Your heart pattern to TWO of
each fabric you will want to make a heart with. Cut them out. |
|

|
Once
all of your hearts are cut out, take one set and pin them PRETTY SIDES
TOGETHER. Leave an opening for turning and stuffing. My
opening in the photo is where the pin cushion is. |
 |
Stitch
around your heart and don't forget to leave an opening. Trim the bottom
near the point of your heart. Be careful not to cut into your
stitching. |
 |
Turn
your heart pretty side out. Poke the bottom point out with a pencil so
your point of the heart looks neat and professional.
Stuff your
heart. Hand stitch the opening closed. Do this to all of your hearts. |
|

|
Thread
an embroidery needle with embroidery thread. Put a knot at the bottom.
Start off by adding beads, then add one heart from the bottom as shown in
the photo. |
|

|
Your
needle should go through the bottom and up to the center of your heart
top. The thread will be hidden in the heart. Add more beads.
Continue this process until you get to the top. |
|

|
With
your left over embroidery thread tie a knot at the top for hanging.
Your colorful, fun, string of
fabric hearts is done!!! |
