Best Fashion Design Photo
for Summer of "08"

Just for fun, every summer I
pick a favorite photograph for the summer camps we offer in 3 different
areas (open sewing, fashion design, and Project RUNWAY).
Making accessories plays a
big part in fashion design. I love how this photograph shows each
student (designer) and their headband they designed. You girls could
open up your own accessories boutique! Nice job girls! |

Our most popular project to make this summer
was the terry cloth bathing suit wrap. I saw this while I was in
Orlando, and said to myself, "My students can make this!" I came home and
designed it and put it on our summer wall. Very popular and nice
item for kids to sew. |

Very Cool denim hat she sewed up! |
|

Mary made this adorable
quick and easy summer dress. She designed it the way she wanted with
the pockets and bows. She even added a ribbon in her hair to match. |

Maggie made the same dress but will use it as
a bathing suit cover-up. How cute! |
|

Cute peasant blouse and matching headband! |

Once again, sewing and designing accessories
plays a big part in fashion design. You can make this awesome lined purse
too! |
|

Rebecca decided to challenge
herself and work with knit fabric.
Working with
knit is very different because knit fabric stretches. Cotton fabric
does not. |

Natalie's adorable pin
stripped skirt with a
side zipper she made! |
|

"Are you Fabulous?" These
girls made the pool cover up that Sharpey wore in Disney's High School
Musical 2! Great job girls! |
|

Another group of girls who
designed and made headbands. Great job girls! |
|

These girls made these
adorable pajama shorts from soft comfy
flannel fabric. They learned how to sew a hem, an elastic waist
band, and why we seam finish! Awesome
Girls! |

Samantha designed and made her
outfit. She made a cute summer tank top, and denim short with
embellishments to match her top. Great job Samantha. |

More of the ever so popular
terry cloth bathing suit cover-up! |
|

Leslie's dress is one of my
favorites that a student made this summer. The color and style that
she picked really compliments her hair and skin tone and the style of the
dress looks fantastic on her. |

I am so proud of Ali and how
she made this adorable outfit! She spent a whole week with us for all day
fashion design camp. Students can really excel in sewing and the
techniques when they are here all day and have more time to study and learn.

Heather spent some time on
her terry cloth bathing suit cover-up. She added ribbon, buttons,
and appliquéd her name on it. |

Once again I felt this
student picked a very good fabric and color for her skin tone and hair
color for the summer top she made. I love it when students can
naturally pick fabrics and colors that compliment themselves! Great job!
