Dress Making/Fashion Design Contest 2011

PROJECT: "fashion FORWARD"

for inspiring designers from LOVE TO SEW Studio ages 8-18

Deadline: September 30, 2011

Model it...

Sketch an outfit of your choice.  Make or buy a pattern, alter it, and make your garment, your way, your design, your look.  PROJECT: "fashion FORWARD".

BE CREATIVE

Rules:

The rules are plain and simple:

-sketch an outfit of your choice (no copying, this must be your original sketch or your original design)

-buy or make a pattern

-make your outfit. Be creative !!! Do your own thin. Remember this is YOUR design so have fun with it. Judging is based on a 100 point scale and you will be judged by 3 judges:

possible 40 points for creativity and originality in 4 different areas

possible 40 points for construction/sewing in 4 different areas

possible 20 points for fit of challenge in 2 different areas

totaling 100 possible points per judge (You are NOT judged on your sketch)

-you may enter up to two designs, however, each design must have it's own entry form, photos, and contest fee.

-neatly fill out the entry form which you can pick up at the sewing studio

Age Divisions:

Novice Division: ages 8-11

Junior Division: ages 12-13

Senior Division: ages 14-18

Awards & Prizes:

 1st - 8th place - Rosette Award Ribbons in each division

One Overall/Outstanding winner in any division which the judges select, will win a certificate for the best "Fashion Forward" Design of 2011, a fashion design note pad, and a fashion design t-shirt.

The winning garments photos will be displayed on the website!
