Christmas Craft Pattern:
How to Make an Old
World Father Christmas Doll - Finland |
| one piece of
card stock paper |
| small scraps
of cream fabric, other cream fabric for face (or use a
wooden ball for Santa face) |

| white doll
hair |
| basic craft
needs like stuffing, black marker, fabric glue or hot glue,
needle and thread |
|
|
|
 |
Cut a
8.5"X11" cardstock piece of paper in half. |
|
 |
Fold the paper to form a
cone shape. Tape or staple in place. Cut off the bottom to make the
cone stand flat. |
|
 |
Use the bottom of the cone to create a circle on beige fabric for the
Santa face.
If you do not want to hand
sew or machine sew you can purchase a wooden ball for the face.

(If you are using a wooden ball for the face skip
this step.)
Place fabric pretty sides together and hand stitch
or machine stitch around the outer edge of circle. Leave an opening
for turning. Turn face pretty side out and stuff. |

Draw a face
on fabric or wooden ball. |
 |
Glue face
onto cone.
Cut an
8"X4.25" piece of fabric for Santa coat. Drape coat over cone and glue
in place. Cut an excess fabric from bottom. |

Glue extra fabric on
inside of bottom of body. |
 |
Glue a gold
ribbon stripe down center of Santa body. Cut 5 pieces of ribbon 1".
Glue in place as shown. |
 |
For fur cape cut a piece of white fur 7" X 5". |
 |
Fold in half and cut as shown in the photo. |
 |
Glue in place onto Santa body. |
 |
For hat cut a 6" X 6" square of white fur. |

Cut in shape
as shown in photo. |

|
Fold fabric
pretty sides together in half. Sew or Glue upper curved area. |
|

|
Turn hat
pretty side out. Glue under 1/4" to form a hem on curved edge of hat. |
|

Glue hat in place on head. |
|
 |
Glue a
bow on top of the hat.
Glue
gold ribbon down side of cape.
Glue
on beard and hair.
