Branching Out:
Gather a branch from your back
yard and some pretty fabric to make this flower mobile. How to make a flower mobile from
fabric and branches.

(NO sewing skills required to make
this adorable flower mobile. Just grab a hot glue gun, buttons, five
different printed fabrics, branch, twine, poly stain, and basic
sewing supplies.)
Flower Mobile:
Once I finished the
Jungle Mobile I couldn’t wait to
start on a flower mobile!!! I love soft pinks and soft greens and
just all things pretty! I wanted to keep with a nature theme, so I
wanted to give an illusion of flowers growing off the branches. For
this project there is no sewing involved. I first choose five
fabrics that I wanted to work with. I traced a circle no bigger then
5 inches wide and cut little slits all along the edges. That circle
is now my base and then to cut the next four circles for one side I
went a ½ inch smaller then the circle before. Do that same thing for
the other side as well. I cut slits on all my circles.
Once you have all your circles cut you then take a hot glue gun and
glue all the circles together. For the center of the circle you
then hot glue a button to both centers of the flower. Or, if you do
have hand sewing skills you can hand sew the flowers together in the
center and sew the button on. I wanted to have each flower have
their own look. So I mix matched the fabrics to make each pattern
different.
Now you need to go out and find that perfect branch. Once you
cleaned your branch off, put a coat of polyester stain to keep it
from cracking. Once you have your branch hung where you would like
it, take your thread threw your second biggest circles of each
flower and make a hoop, just like an ornament hangs. And drape your
flowers around the branch the way you like. I love using twine to
hang the mobiles.
