Vegetable Gardens

When making a vegetable garden make use of as
much space as possible. Notice the tall hardy tomato plants, the most
common vegetable/fruit found in the garden of any neighborhood. |
|

Red leaf lettuce is a fairly hardy, cool
weather vegetable. It thrives the most when temps are between 60 and
70 degrees Fahrenheit. They should be planted early spring and/or
late summer. Harvest them as soon as the leaves are large enough for
eating. They can not stand extreme hot weather and will stop growing
during those times. |
|

Green leaf lettuce is the same as the red leaf
lettuce. Both are great for salads and have a nice delicate sweet
flavor. When harvesting, pick every other leaf, so there is more room for
growth. Once picked, the leaves can be washed off, dripped dried, wrapped
in a damp paper towel, and placed in a plastic bag in the fridge.
This will make your lettuce leaves nice and crisp for your next salad or
sandwich. |
|

Green peppers will grow plentiful in a sunny
location, and watered when needed. |
