Don't throw felt scraps away, you can make adorable finger puppets!

Don't' throw away those scraps of felt! We've just found a use for them.

Trace your finger to make a perfect finger puppet pattern making sure you allow enough room for a seam allowance.

Using a piece of card stock or computer paper create a finger puppet pattern by tracing around your finger as shown in the photo. Make sure you allow enough room around your finger for a seam allowance.

Mark on your new pattern piece, "Finger Puppet Pattern CUT 2."

You can make cute little finger puppets from scrap felt fabric.

As you make each puppet this will be your basic pattern piece to use. You can change it as you make each character.

In general, for each puppet you will be cutting out 2 pieces, a front and a back, then painting the front piece only. Last sew around the sides and top to form the puppet. Leave the bottom open for the puppet to go onto the finger. For all puppets you can use regular scissors, or pinking shears.

For the cat, instead of making the top round, extend the felt fabric and cut 2 "V"s to form cat ears.

To make a perfect circle use the opposite end of a paint brush and dap into paint.

To make perfect circles for eyes, dip the opposite end of the paint brush in paint and then dab the paint onto the character in place for eyes.

Don't throw scraps of felt away, you can make these cute Halloween ghost finger puppets.

To make the ghost just use the pattern piece.

To make the pumpkin, before sewing the front and back together around the outer edge place little pieces of green or brown felt in-between the front and the back at the top and then sew in place catching the green felt.

To make Dracula, just add a piece of black felt to the back to make it look like a cape.

Be creative! Try making other Halloween characters like spiders, bats, and devils too!
