Sewing Projects, Crafts, and Quilts for Halloween, Autumn & Thanksgiving Time - Handmade Fall Crafts

Photo Pages  1 - 2 - 3 - 4 - 5 - 6 - 7 - 8

Meet Duncan, he is my ghost host this year for Halloween and welcomes everyone through the front door as he sits on my fireplace mantel. He is made from white muslin and then coffee stained and baked in the oven for a quick dry. His mouth and nose are tan hand embroidery stitches, and he has cheesecloth draped over him for a "scary" look. He holds an old skeleton key that my daughter found in the ground at a historic campground.

Here is a handmade primitive witch I bought at a local craft show to add to my witch collection! She is only about 6" and is made from coffee stained muslin. Her broom is made from a stick, weeds, and jute rope.

Directions and pattern for making Abigail & Barnabas the friendly ghosts made from quilt batting & cheesecloth.

This charming ghost couple is made to look a little bit scary and old, as if they have come up right from the grave yard. But having Walt Disney World's "Haunted Mansion" ghost ride in mind while I was creating these, I wanted their appearance to be cute as well. So I embellished them with big eyes and a black hair bow for Abigail the smaller ghost, and a black bow tie for Barnabas the ghost who has his arms up to scare people! These friendly ghosts are coffee stained to look old and baked in the oven for a quick dry. Add a little pumpkin to the standing ghost couple and you have yourself a nice Halloween center-piece. A beautiful quilted pumpkin table runner to use for Halloween and all the way through Thanksgiving!

I spotted this patch work pumpkin table runner at craft show in Lancaster, PA. I grabbed this right up when I saw the price tag reading $22.50! I even ask if they had any more. At that price I was going to buy one for each of my daughter's houses! This craft is staying out for the whole fall season including Thanksgiving.

Here is a very cool craft you can make for your Thanksgiving table, bundles of harvest corn!
