Not everyone is into the
Ghosts, Goblins, and Vampires during the Fall time. If you don't celebrate
Halloween, or you are looking to celebrate harvest time, than here are some suggestions for a
great "Harvest Party."
Decorate your Harvest party with
pumpkins, gourds, hay bales, and mums. Your center pieces on the table can
be terra cotta pots with raffia bows and leaves hot glued to them.
Fill them with apples inside for a great fall festive look. Your goody
bags can just be plain brown paper bags decorated with leaves, sticks, and
berries from your back yard. Dessert can be a pumpkin pie, or a pumpkin
shaped cake. Use orange, red, and yellow table clothes and spread candy
corn on them. Games to
play at your harvest party could be pumpkin painting, cookie
decorating, pin the waddle on the turkey, bobbing for applies, and jumping
in a pile of leaves! Make it more exciting and have prizes at the bottom
of the pile of leaves. Learn new dances like "Cotton Eye Joe" or
"Turkey in the Straw." A great craft idea for everyone would be to paint
wooden turkey magnets so they have something to bring home as a favor.
Don't forget to have everyone sign and date it for years of memories.
Can't forget a hayride! If someone in
your group has a pick up truck, grab some hay throw it in the back and
find somewhere safe to drive. Perhaps in a camp ground or park where
there are side roads. If possible end your night hotdogs and marshmallows
over a bonfire and singing with a guitar. Lot of fun!
Have fun, be creative, and don't forget your
apple cider! |
