 Hollywood and Sewing

I have always been fascinated by the wonders and works of film making. Being from the East Coast, it's always a pleasure to head west and visit Hollywood. I have been there a number of times, met many movie stars, visited some movie sets and toured 3 studios including Paramount Studios. I had the honor of walking the red carpet on Paramount Studios when I was invited to a "dinner". I met stars like, Steven Siegel, Woody Haralson, Jamie Lee Curtis, (who my 3rd daughter is named after), Paul McCartney, Peter Faulk, Ellen Degeneras, Alec Baldwin, Lou Ferrigno, Pamela Anderson Lee, Linda Blair.  I even met Arnold Schwarzenegger 3 times.

I took many film study classes in school and I love to evaluate a film once I have watched it.  I also love to watch movies and look for editing mistakes. I have found significant mistakes in Blockbuster hits like; Titanic, Jurassic Park, The Wizard of OZ, American Beauty.

Enough about me and my fascination of Hollywood and film making, let's talk about Hollywood and Sewing!

LIGHTS, CAMERA, AND ACTION...before all of that takes place there is a lot of preparation in the scenery, the props, and the costume. Yes, the costume. Where did you think all of those gowns came from in the movie "Titanic" or the outfits from "Lord of the Rings" or "Harry Potter".   How about the outfits the Olympic ice-skaters wear? Where did they come from?  They were hand-made.  They were drawn and designed on paper and then costume designers made them.

Let's take a look at Hollywood in different areas. Just click on the part that interest you. (All of it interests me!)
