JUDI
(Montgomery) HARRIS |
| Studio Owner, Director,
Instructor |
|
Judi Harris
has been teaching sewing and design for over ten years.
Previously, she created and sold seasonal crafts, quilts, and
kits that have been sold throughout the US, Australia, and
Europe. A self-made woman and entrepreneur, Judi started Love to
Sew Studio as a small, word-of-mouth summer camp in 2001 in
hopes to share her knowledge and love for the art with the next
generation. Since then, her studio has grown to include daily
year long classes, fashions shows, charity events, and sewing
marathons. She has taught students in the thousands, some of
whom have grown and left for college to study fashion. She
decided to start a website as a hobby to further share her
craft, which quickly evolved into the well-ranked thousand
page information site you are now reading. In addition, Judi has
been published in magazines Sew News, Sew Simple, Irish
Quilting, and Mom’s, as
well as received multiple newspaper coverage of various charity
events and shows she has hosted. She has a certificate in Dress
Making and Design from Thomson Education, and one in Sewing &
Dress Making from Stratford Institute.

SARAH CARBONE |
| Contributor to "Chic
Weekly", Author, Love to Sew's Knitting Expert |
|
Sarah Carbone, a native of Long
Island, New York, began knitting in 2002 at 18 years old. She
learned the basic knit stitch from her mom Cindy, an accomplished
quilter, and was off and running with her new obsession. Over the
years, she has expanded her knitting skills and now dreams of
owning her own yarn shop. When she isn’t knitting, she is a
student, completing her BA Degree in English and History at
Adelphi University in 2008 and now working on her MA in English as
Second Language Education at Hunter College in New York City.
Sarah loves fashion and spends lots of time in NYC simply checking
out what people are wearing. To her, fashion is not just about
wearing beautiful things, it’s about the statement you want to
make to the world around you. Her other passions include travel
and food and she also writes restaurant reviews for Patch.com. |

ASHLEY RECTOR |
| Contributor, Love to
Sew's Expert for Love Your Home, Creative Inspirations for Home
Decorating |
Ashley
Rector emerged from her shell while planning and designing her
wedding. One of her many talents is taking plain, everyday
objects and places and turning them into beautiful works of
art--working from mediums as varied as a trash-picked old door,
an ordinary glass votive, or even a backyard. She has always had
a passion for and an appreciation of art and creativity. Thanks
to "Love to Sew Studio," Ashley will share her craft with all of
us! One of her tools to keep motivated and to challenge herself
is a Vision Board. She finds inspiration from her intimate
surroundings, such as family, friends, nature, and music. She is
about to learn how to sew for the first time ever! You’re never
too old, right?
