INTERNSHIP at LOVE TO SEW STUDIO

Love to Sew truly believes in the old saying, "experience is the best teacher." With this in mind, we have developed two different unpaid internships for sewing and/or fashion enthusiasts in high school and college. Whether you just want to learn as much as you can about sewing, or you are heading that way in a career, you may want to consider our internship program.

In the Studio Winter Internship: Join our studio for a four-month internship.  You'll guide and support students during studio time and assist instructors with office duties ranging from prepping the studio for class, working with patterns, handling and corresponding with instructors in the studio and outside industry reps for fashion shows and competitions. You are required to be in the studio for three hours of work each week for four months anytime during Sept. - May.

In the Studio Summer Internship: Join our studio during our busiest time of the year for a 3 week internship. You'll guide and support students during our summer camps.  You will also assist in the studio for inventory, ordering, and judging of contests. You will also be handling up coming fashion show events. Interns are required to be in the studio for 3 weeks of sewing camps during the summer.

What's in it for you?
-This is an excellent opportunity to gain valuable hands-on experience and increase your sewing skills.
-Add industry-related experience to your fashion and sewing resume.
-During your internship you may use the studio for your personal projects at any time and take one of our courses at no cost. (Summer interns get one week free of a camp of their choice)
-Attend our yearly trip to Mood fabric in New York, and a trip to the fabric shops in Lancaster.
-Love to sew prefers to hire internally. When we need a new instructor or someone to take on custom sewing projects we look to our past and present interns.

Internship requirements:
-You must be a current student or a past student of Love to Sew Studio.
-You must have a passion for sewing and learning, as well as strong sewing skills.
-Candidates must be reliable , hard working, organized, personable, creative, ability to learn quickly, and love to work with kids.
-Interns are required to take a least one program (at no charge) during their internship.
-Upon completion of your internship you must assist with at least one fashion show, completed your hours, and write a minimum of one article on fashion/sewing.

Some of our past interns have:
Written articles for lovetosew.com
Arranged wall displays for our studio
Made projects for our studio
Attended luncheon and trips to fabric shops
Guided and help students with learning to sew
Assisted in reorganizing our supplies and storage
Researched for new programs
