Going Green With Jeans...How to Recycle Your Jeans into Sewing Projects

From old Jeans: How to Make an Accessories Holder

How to sew an accessories holder from an old pair of jeans.

Mona from Cairo, Egypt shares this project with us:

As you know denim is a nice strong fabric, so it will hold well for this project. Recycle your old jeans into this side-by-side accessory holder.  You can use it for sandals, scarves, socks, or just about anything you can squeeze in the pockets. Denim scraps and some pretty ribbon or crochet tape are all you need!

Recycle your jeans into sewing projects!

Cut one leg from your jeans. This will be the base of your accessories holder.

Stitch a casing in the top as shown. You can place a hanger through the casing or a rod to hold up your accessory holder.

Cut the second jean leg of your pants into two long single pieces of denim.

Stitch pretty ribbon or crochet tape on the long sides as shown.

How to make an accessories holder from an old pair of jeans.

Pin the long single pieces of denim on top of the denim leg forming loops big enough to place your accessories in.

Stitch as shown.

Directions on how to sew an accessories holder from an old pair of jeans.

Here is a photo of all the loops sewn.

At the bottom sew a line of pretty ribbon or crochet tape.

There! You have just recycled and helped saved our planet, and made an accessories holder...great job!

We'd love to see a photo of your recycled project!
