Knit Projects for the Bathroom

Knit Projects for the Bathroom, learn to knit.

An inventive knitter can find the chance to knit something in almost every place she goes. On a train, in a store, in a restaurant, there’s always something that can be either covered with a beautiful knit case or some other handy knit item. The good news is that in your own house, you’re free to knit to your heart’s content. That means every room is fair game, including the bathroom.

You might think there aren’t a lot of projects in one small room. Lucky for knitters, there are plenty. You can start with the floor. There are great patterns for bathroom rugs, and excellent yarn to make them with. You definitely want to use something you can wash without worrying about. A good choice is a thicker cotton, but be sure to wash it in cold so it doesn’t shrink.

Then there are the small items. Do you keep a box of tissues in your bathroom? Most people do and it’s simply screaming for a pretty, handmade box cover. This is something that can be made in several different versions for each holiday, so your bathroom can keep up with your knitting decorations in the rest of the house.

It’s easy to go overboard in the bathroom. You may find yourself knitting toilet seat covers, cozies for the soap dispenser, the toothbrush holder, and so on. If you want to go all out, there are plenty of patterns online for everything you can imagine.

You can also go for useful items like things you can buy, but might like to make instead. You can make loofahs for exfoliating and you can even use different types of yarn and use each different loofah depending on how much scrubbing you plan to do.

There are also some great patterns for bath mitts, which are not only an indulgent way to do your own washing, but they’re also great for giving baths to little ones. They always seem to get a kick out of a bath mitt; somehow they’re much more exciting than ordinary washcloths. Plus there are adorable patterns for animal shaped bath mitts.
