How to Knit

(Learn How to Make a Slipknot)

Before you can knit or cast on, you must learn how to make a slilp knot.
 
Learn to make a slipknot for knitting. Before you can even begin to knit or cast on, you will need to know how to make a slipknot.

Place your yarn just like the photo into a pretzel shape. Leave about 8" of yarn on the right as shown in the photo.

 
Form a pretzel shape with yarn and put your knitting needle through it. Place one knitting needle through the yarn as shown in the photo.
Pull yarn down on your knitting needle. Hold the knitting needle with your right hand.  Pull both of the yarns with your left hand.
You've just made a slipknot and begin knitting. Pull until you have a knot at the edge of the needle.  There...you have just made a slipknot.

Now you can cast on and begin knitting!
