OPEN SEWING CLASS 2.0 Hour
| In our most popular
class, students ages 8-18 (and now an adult class also on Tuesday
nights), are welcome to sew anything they wish. This
class is
for students who wish to spend more time sewing than 1.5 hours. Some students take this class with an emphasis on fashion design.
Students who have the desire to make their own clothes and
costumes are encouraged to take this class. They will work on
making garments and building their sewing portfolio, using
varied professional dress-making and fashion design techniques.
Other students just want more time to sew and prefer a
longer class time. If you have taken a class before or a summer
camp with us, look at our weekly classes during the school year as a
time to slow things down, sharpen your sewing skills, and get
things perfect for your sewing projects. |

Calendar of Events /
Classes
|
This class is a yearly
class based on a month to month fee, and students are not required to
attend all nine months. We understand that sports and other school
conflicts may occur. However, we do encourage students to make every
effort to try and attend each month from September to May so they may get
the most out of the yearly sewing lessons plans. New students may join in at any time once they have had either
our introductory sewing or a 4 hour
private lesson
which can be divided up into two 2 hour sessions. Students who sew for
five or more months out of the school year are rewarded at the end of the
year in May with a party, certificate, and yearly awards to show their
dedication of sewing. Students are
encouraged, but not required, to participate in local fashion shows, quilt shows, and
sewing competitions.
