How to make a "LOVE Owl" - a Valentine Craft

You can make a LOVE Owl too!

Sewing Projects for Valentine's Day

Whoooo Love's You Baby!

You will need:

-scraps of Valentine fabric & other fabric

-stuffing

Let's make your owl pattern.

First tape two 8.5" x 11" piece of computer paper together.

Trace a dinner plate.  This will be the base of the owl body.

Now at the top trace a t-cup saucer plate as shown in the photo.

Now draw the eyes, nose, feet, and wings.

There, now you have your owl pattern to work with.

Now that you have your pattern, you can begin cutting out your pieces.

Once your pieces are cut out pin them to the pretty side of ONE of the owl body pieces.

Zigzag appliqué the wings, eyes, and feet on first.

Either use a heat bond for the smaller pieces like the eye center, heart, and nose, or zigzag them on next.

Place your owl bodies pretty sides together and pin around the outer edge.

Stitch around the owl using the pressure foot as your guide. Leave a 4" opening.

(Don't forget to leave your opening.)

Trim seams, turn owl pretty side out. Stuff the owl with fiber fill or stuffing.

Hand stitch the opening closed.

Your LOVE Owl is done!
