Making a Pattern from a
Garment...Project RUNWAY Season Four, Episode
Two
The vest on the right is the
vest from the winning 2-piece collection from Project Runway's Season Four
Episode 2 that Sarah Jessica Parker picked
for her line "Bitten". One of our very young designers, Rachel, feel in love with the vest and wanted to
make something similar for herself.

She traced the front and the
back pieces of the vest onto pattern paper being careful not to move the
vest around making sure she gets a nice trace of the piece. This is
very difficult to do if you can not cut your garment apart.
Then she used the pattern she made and made
the vest out of muslin.

Once the vest was made from
muslin she did a fitting. She adjusted a places on the pattern
pieces and then cut her fabric and lining and made the vest. |

It turned out to be a perfect
fitted fully lined vest that looks just like the one from Project
RUNWAY! |
