How to Make a Muslin Doll Body

About Muslin Doll Bodies

Muslin Doll Body

Directions on how to make a Muslin Doll Body

Depending on the size of the doll you want, will determine how large the body, arms, and legs will be.  We are going to make a small doll of which you can draw the body pieces on one computer size piece of paper.

Draw a body, arm and leg pattern piece as shown in the photo.

With your muslin folded in half, trace one body, two arms, and two legs leaving enough room around each pattern piece to have a seam allowance.
Pin in the sewing line of the body parts to keep them together.
Sew around the body parts leaving the bottom of the body open, the top of the arm open, and the top of the leg open for turning and stuffing as show in the photo.
Cut around each body part.  Be careful not to cut into your stitching.
Turn the body parts pretty side out and stuff.
Place both legs in the bottom of the body.  Pin in place and stitch.
Hand sew the arms in place.  Your muslin doll body is done.
