| If you are new to the area or
new to the art of sewing, WELCOME from Love to Sew Studio.
If you just moved into the area and have taken
sewing lessons in the past and already know how to sew, read a pattern,
thread a machine, and are between the ages of nine to adult, it is best to
call the director, Judi Harris, and speak with her personally to see what
placement is best for you.
If you are brand new to sewing and are
seven or eight years old you may take private lessons until you are nine
years old or until otherwise directed by an instructor to move into a
regular open sewing class.
If you are brand new to sewing and are
between the ages of nine and adult, there are two ways to begin sewing at
Love to Sew Studio.
| 1. Through our
Introductory Sewing Workshop -
This is an eight week sewing class for brand new students who want to
learn to sew offered on Tuesday nights from 6p-8p. It is run
continuously throughout the months of September through April. In this
class you will make four projects which will cover all the basics.
This class is for ages nine to adult. Once you have completed this
eight week workshop, you may either: move into a
scheduled class dependant upon
availability, move onto an independent
study program dependant upon availability, or take
private lessons. |

| 2. Through
Private Lessons - Once you have taken
two 2-hour private lessons and the instructor feels you are ready, you
may move onto a scheduled class dependant
upon availability, move onto an
independent study program dependant upon availability, or continue
with private lessons. We have many
students who continue taking private lessons or move into an
independent study program instead of joining a class. It is up to the
individual needs and schedule. |

Either way, learning to sew is fun,
exciting, and very rewarding, and we're pretty sure you will be hooked
with your first lesson. Our students enjoy sewing dolls, doll clothes,
crafts, holiday decorations, quilts, and clothes for the themselves. We
host a few annual sewing charity events each year. Our biggest and most
popular event shared by our students is our
annual fall regional fashion show that we encourage all of our
students to participate in. |
