Taking the time to have
Family time together is so important in today's busy and fast paced
world. What better time of the year to enjoy the beauty of America with
your family than Fall and Harvest time. These events, times, and
traditions you make with your family are what your children will
cherish and remember the most!
Visit a Pumpkin Carve Contest:
Check around your area for a
local pumpkin carve contest. They are amazing to see and well worth
the visit. As you can see by the photos, some are carved completely to the
white part of the pumpkin, some are done with more artist type of work,
and some are cut open completely to make a whole new effect.
Enjoy The Beauty of Leaves:

Take a ride in the car to
see the beauty of the fall foliage.

Rake leaves as a family,
jump in a pile of leaves; compare color, shape, and texture of leaves.
Visit your local Apple
Orchard:

Most Apple Orchard's really
"Do it Up" for Halloween and Harvest time, after all, this is their
busiest time of the year. Some will have decorations, pumpkin pies,
apples, scarecrows, and more.
Go on a Hayride:

Some orchards offer
hayrides. If you have never been on one, give it a try, they are a
lot of fun. I can remember one October we didn't want to take the
kids on a hayride because we thought they were too young, so we bought a
haystack, emptied in the back of my friends truck, and everyone hopped in
(all 10 of us.) We drove around a private campground for about 1/2
hour making up ghost stories. Then we all jumped out and cooked
hotdogs on a stick over an open fire.
Tour a Haunted House:

"ewwwww", "scary...", Do you
like to be scared with things that go bump in the night? Well, fall time
is the best time to get scared!!! Have fun being scared on a tour of a
haunted house with friends and family.
