Left - Heather showing her knit dress that she made by draping.  No pattern was used to create this dress.  Many fittings were required to get the right fit. When working with knit fabrics a different kind of stitch must be used.

Right Below- Heather showing her couture Dress.  Heather designed her dress by using a bra as the base, and most of this dress was sewn by hand!

Wonderful job Heather!  You have outdone yourself on the couture dress.  My favorite part is the pleating in the front on both the waistband bodice and the front skirt part!

Sewing for your pets.

Inspired by Project RUNWAY season's three "Man's Best Friend" challenge, Heather made a summer dress for herself and a matching light coat for her dog. It's fun sewing for your pet!

Heather won 3rd place in Camp Project Runway.

Heather won 3rd Place in the 2007 "Little Black Dress" challenge at camp Project RUNWAY with this dress that she designed and made with no patterns.

Heather's Plaid Pleated Skirt she designed for school. No pattern was used and she did all the pleating on her own.

Heather made black denim jeans which were topped stitched in red thread.  She used a strong seam (flat-felled) seam to finish this project.

 

A lined little purse.

Heading to the Pennsylvania Renaissance Fair, Heather had to make appropriate attire!

 

 

Heather's first outfit she attempted using no patterns.  She designed it on paper first, then took her measurements.  She cut fabric up in pieces and sewed them together.  Adorable outfit.

Heather won this challenge at Camp Project RUNWAY!!!  She had to design and make an outfit for a fellow designer.

 

Heather made a fully lined winter coat.  The outer layer of the coat was made from a brown/tan/blue scroll print corduroy fabric. The trim around the cuffs and outside of the coat was made from tan fleece for warmth, and the coat was lined in a brown print cotton fabric.

 

Heather made this  lined bubble skirt ,with a side zipper, from cotton silky sheer fabric and lined it with  china silk black lining.

Heather made this "Keyhole" halter top with a side zipper. She made it from cotton silk fabric.  This was an advanced level project. Great job Heather!
