Project RUNWAY Camp 2007

Week one of Project RUNWAY camp was with our younger designers.

Week two of Project RUNWAY camp was with our older and more advance designers. (see below)

Day One: Challenge - Greek Goddess - Designers were given 2 1/2 yards of white fabric and many notions and supplies to make a Greek Goddess outfit. Patterns were not allowed to be used.

Our group of Greek Goddesses (above)

Our group of Greek Goddesses hard at work (below) Designers were judged in 13 different areas of their challenge including creativity, design, sewing skills, and more.  Possible 130 points were given by 4 judges totaling a possible of 520 points total. To score high, designers had to be creative as well as having great sewing skills with a great fit of their garment, all showing through the execution of their challenge.

Our Winner: Lindsey from N.J.

(Goddess of the Earth)

2nd Place: Alexandra from PA

3rd Place Tie: Jacqueline from PA

3rd Place Tie: Catherine from PA

(Goddess of the animals...how clever)

Day Two: Challenge - Little Black Dress - Designers were given 2 yards of black fabric and had to make that perfect "Little Black Dress for a Mock-tail Party by the pool.

Everyone ready in their "Little Black Dress" for the "Mock-Tail" Party by the pool.

Some of the girls hardly working...I mean working hard. LOL

1st Place: Alexandra - Perfect fit! Alexandra designed and made this on her own with no pattern.

2nd Place: Jacqueline - Adorable...Inspired by Audrey Hepburn, Jacqueline designed and made this dress on her own.

3rd Place Tie: Heather - It's always something fun and full of  pizzazz with Heather's designs!  Heather designed and made this dress with no pattern. Adorable!

3rd Place Tie: Sydney - Sydney used no patterns to make this perfect fitting black dress for herself!

Watch for Project RUNWAY which airs Thursday nights on LifeTime... It may help you with some of your challenges in our camp!
