Edge Stitching - a Seam Finish

Edge stitching is best used on cotton fabrics and thin fabrics.

Cut two 4" X 4" piece of fabric to practice on.

  Turn the raw edge of your seam under a small amount. Tack. Press.
  Stitch from the right side as close to the edge as possible.
  Trim the raw edge away on the underneath, close to the machine stitching.
  Press flat.
