This adorable "Hug A Nurse" handmade raggedy
doll was sewn for a friend of mine. |

I can't even begin to tell you how difficult
this "My Buddy Army Doll" was to make. I found this old pattern from
the 1940's. This pattern was made during WWII to give to children who's
fathers were fighting in the war. Back then, pattern companies assumed that
everyone sewed, therefore making the directions very hard to follow. |

This 1950's Handmade Muslin
Doll won 1st place in one of our doll contests. |

It is hard to see the great
fairy that Catherine made in this picture. But it was awesome... She
chose colors of purples and greens, (like an outdoor fairy), and trimmed
it in ivy....Great imagination and creativity Catherine!!!! |

Early cloth doll
bodies were homemade with scraps of fabric. Nothing was thrown out
or wasted back then. Most were constructed with a front and a back
including legs. The arms were attached separately. One piece body dolls
were produced commercially in the early 1800's in many European countries.
By 1840 muslin bodies were being made that could sit. Click here for more
history of the muslin doll. |

I sewed this cute hunter snowman doll for my
son. I hot-glued leaves and painted snow on the camouflage and blaze orange
fleece to give it a realistic effect. |
