Jacquelyn from Delaware made
this dress for her Cotillion. There was
plenty of gathering used to form the shape
of the dress. The deep purple color adds style and elegance to this
empire waist silhouette. Nice job!

Shannon designed and made
her dress, purse, and matching hat. |
|

This adorable dress was made
by Jena, a mother of 5, 4 boys, and one little tiny girl. Jena
somehow still finds time to sew, and made this Easter dress for herself.
Excellent job. |

Zoe designed and made this
dress for her sister's first communion. |

Two Favorite Sewing & Dress
Making Books We Use Here at Love to Sew Studio Are:
|
|

Christine Haynes book "Chic & Simple Sewing."
This is our all-time favorite sewing book to use for beginners to
intermediate students in our studio, and full size patterns are included.
This book is filled with adorable easy to sew dresses, skirts, and more
for the modern hip girl! |
|

We
also have Wenlan Chia's "Twinkle
Sews" in our studio. It's definitely for the
more advance student though! The patterns are on a disk and you can print
them right on your own computer. We love her designs and youthful spirit
in her collection of 25 pieces of clothing to make in this book. |

Amber made this gown for
Halloween. This is a more difficult dress or gown to make.
Gowns are a little harder to make because you have much more fabric
to work with. This gown is made from a medium weight satin fabric.
It is trimmed in elegant lace and has a zipper back. |
|

Three students work hard in
making the outfits they are wearing to get ready for the 2012 fashion
show! |
|

Jaqi is the model for a
colonial dress that I made from 100 % cotton calico fabric. When I used to sell crafts and quilts,
it was required at some shows and historical places, to wear
colonial attire. I wore this dress with a shawl. |
|

Amber made her Easter Dress
out of 100 % light weight cotton fabric in a coral print. This adorable
spaghetti strap dress is perfect for beginners to sew because it has no
buttons or zippers. |
|

Katherine made this adorable
country little sun dress out of 100 % calico cotton fabric. |
 |
Here's some
great suggestions for the straps on your
summer dress or top that you are making! |
