Designing, Sewing, and Making Dresses

  Photo Page 1

Amber made her Easter Dress out of 100 % light weight cotton fabric in a coral print. This adorable spaghetti strap dress is perfect for beginners to sew because it has no buttons or zippers.

Zoe designed and made this dress for her sister's first communion.

Shannon designed and made her dress, purse, and matching hat.

This adorable dress was made by Jena, a mother of 5, 4 boys, and one little tiny girl.  Jena somehow still finds time to sew, and made this Easter dress for herself.  Excellent job.

Amber made this gown for Halloween.  This is a more difficult dress or gown to make.  Gowns are a little  harder to make because you have much more fabric to work with. This gown is made from a medium weight satin fabric.  It is trimmed in elegant lace and has a zipper back.

Jaqi is the model for a colonial dress that I made from 100 % cotton calico fabric.  When I used to sell crafts and quilts, it was required at some shows and  historical places, to wear colonial attire. I wore this dress with a shawl.

Why is it that fashion looks so good on one person and bad on another? A dressmaker can understand what determines that and use it in their dress making skills; fashion designers tools, line, color, detail, and texture.

Katherine made this adorable country little sun dress out of 100 % calico cotton fabric.
