Sewing for Your Bunny

Who is that masked bunny? It's a giant lady bug.

About Sewing for Bunny Rabbits- Bunnies and rabbits really don't like to wear coats or jackets or hats, or anything for that matter.  Although if you live in the north where winter months can get very cold and you have an indoor bunny, you may want to make it a jacket or blanket if you take it on winter walks.  Rabbits really do have enough fur to keep them warm during the cold months, or so they say.... I actually did an experiment with my rabbit.  It is an outdoor bunny and one winter day I decided to bring it in and keep it in our sun room.  We bought a little flat box for it do go to the bathroom in and it trained it self with that immediately. That room gets very cold at night but at least the bunny didn't have the cold winds like he would have outside. So I turned on a space heater for him.  Thinking he would get to hot after used to being so cold outside, I snuck in the room to see if he was okay. Well he was snuggled up to that heater with his body leaning up against it, and that is where he stayed all night.

Your bunny will not mind wearing a jacket, sweater, or blanket if you start him out that way.  Most importantly, make sure it is cold enough for him to wear one.

Best Fabric to use- Cotton is the best fabric to use if you are making your bunny a blanket or coat.  Cotton "breaths" and that is what your bunny will need.
Easy Type Patterns- It is very hard to find a bunny pattern.  It is best to make one on your own.
Difficult Type patterns-  -
Pattern Pieces- There isn't any really...have fun designing one on your own.
Cost and Fabric usage- -
Comments- My favorite thing to make for my bunny...Halloween Costumes.
