How to make "Skully", a Skull Face Craft Project from Quilt Batting
 
You Will Need:
 
2 pieces of quilt batting about 7"x9"
scraps of black felt
craft wire
craft stuffing or fiber-fill
basic sewing supplies
 
Quilters are always wondering what to do with extra quilt batting. Here's a cute Halloween craft that you can stitch up in no time, "Skully"!

Pin and cut out 2 skull faces from quilt batting.

Free Halloween sewing project using quilt batting scraps to make a skull face craft, skully! Cut out eyes, nose, and mouth from black felt.

Pin the face parts on ONE of the skull faces.

Free Halloween sewing project using quilt batting scraps to make a skull face craft, skully! Sew the face parts on by sewing close to the outer edge of each piece either by hand or on the sewing machine.

Once the black felt face pieces are sewn on, hand sew an "X" in the center of the eyes using white thread.

Free Halloween sewing project using quilt batting scraps to make a skull face craft, skully! Pin the face front and back pretty sides together. Mark a 3" opening at the top for turning and stuffing.

Sew around the skull face using the pressure foot as your guide. Remember not to sew at the top where your opening is.

Free Halloween sewing project using quilt batting scraps to make a skull face craft, skully! Turn skully pretty side out through the opening and stuff with craft fiber-fill.

Hand sew the top closed.

Using craft wire cut a piece the size you want the hanging wire to be. Poke wire through each side of the head and twist to hold in place.
