Stay WARM This Winter by Stitching Up a Raggedy Quilt. They are Quick and Easy to Sew and Make Great Presents!

How to make an adorable adorable Appliquéd Snowman Pillow

This adorable little country snowman pillow makes a nice house warming gift, or teachers gift.  It is easy to sew and can be made with scraps of fabric lying around the house.

You will need two 6" X 9" of blue calico fabric, one 4 1/2" X 6" of fur felt or warm and natural, a green scarf that measures 1" X 18", a little nose cut out of orange fabric, and a little heart about 1 1/2" cut out of red fabric.

Fold the fur felt in half long ways, and draw 1/2 of a snowman as shown in the photo.  Cut through the two layers, then open it up on the fold and you will have a snowman.

Pin your fur snowman to the PRETTY side of ONE of your pillow pieces as shown in the photo.
Zigzag stitch around the edge of your snowman as shown in the photo.
Pin the nose, scarf, and heart to your snowman as shown in the photo.

Zigzag around the edges of the nose, heart, and scarf where the neck line is.  Leave the long part of the scarf to hang.  With black embroidery thread make 2 french knots as eyes, or you can glue two cloves on for eyes.

Move the scarf close to the center of the pillow.  You do want to stitch it when sewing around your pillow.

Place the two pillow pieces pretty sides together and pin around the outside.  Leave an opening at the bottom for turning and stuffing.

Stitch around the edge of your pillow using the pressure foot as your guide.  Make sure you leave an opening at the bottom.

Clip the corners, turn pillow, and stuff.  Hand sew the opening closed.

Your adorable country little snowman pillow is done.
