Although making
crafts, clothes, and room decor can be fun and exciting for your little
girl, niece, or grand daughter, there are some things to take into
consideration. First, is the project you are making "safe" for a child?
The photo above shows a handmade raggedy doll holding a heart pillow.
This doll was simply made from a fabric doll form, then clothes were made,
the face was painted, and hair was hand sewed on. This doll is NOT
safe for a baby girl and should not be put in a crib or playpen.
This doll is intended for room decoration only. It is intended to be
a baby girl's first raggedy doll to keep as a heirloom to pass to her
daughter someday. Once the child reaches age 4 and no longer puts things
in her mouth then parents can opt to use it as a "toy" doll. Also,
the doll form and fabric is not flame retardant, and should not be kept in
cribs or playpens.
