Dress Forms for Making Your Own Clothes

Teen Fashion Designers

Kate designed and made her 3 tier skirt with a zipper and yoke front and and back, knit halter top, and matching purse with pocket.

So, you want to be a Fashion Designer? Do you like to design, pick matching colors, draw, sketch, create, and sew? Then you can be a young Fashion Designer too.  Sewing and Designing go hand in hand, and are making it big in the U.S.A. and all over the world. These pages are dedicated to the Teen Fashion Designers who enjoy creating and sewing, and have shown great dedication in the art of sewing.

Heather is fully dedicated to the art of sewing and fashion design.  As a young teen she has made garments, purses, and hats. Next year's project...a winter coat.  She is shown here working on a "Baby Doll" pair of pajamas which she will use a French seam to make, and wearing a denim hat she made.

Jacqueline made her homecoming dress using gathering seams, silk-like fabric, and French seams. Jacqueline enjoys sewing and has been for 5 years.  She also assists on the costume committee at her school.

WORDS OF WISDOM

Take the time to be creative. Always be sketching and writing down ideas. Buy a top at a store, cut it up, and add things to it!  If you make it, you got to wear it and live it, you never know who is going to see it! Take a sewing class, pattern making class, and a sketch class.
