How to Make a Rustic Stick Christmas Tree Felt Pillow Ornament

You will Need:
green felt
sticks from a tree branch
hot glue
basic sewing supplies
I was bored one night while my students were dry needle felting. I saw some little tiny branches sitting on the table to be used for snowman arms, and I just starting playing around, and this is what I came up with. It was an instant hit and that night several students made this ornament!
For the handmade tree branch ornament, cut 2 pieces of green felt 5" each. Cut two 4"x5" pieces of green felt.

Cut one piece of ribbon 5".

To make the handmade Christmas stick tree ornament pin the handle down and sew. Pin the ribbon down on one of the felt pieces as shown in the photo.

Stitch in place.

Pin the felt pieces pretty sides together at the top and both sides. Pin the felt pieces pretty sides together at the top and both sides.

Keep the ribbon down on the felt piece the way it was pinned. It will come up the right way after it is sewn. Leave the bottom open.

To make the handmade Christmas tree ornament sew around 3 sides. Stitch around the two sides and the top using the pressure foot as your guide.

Turn the ornament pretty side out.

Stuff the handmade tree ornament with fiber stuffing. Stuff the ornament with fiberfill. Hand sew the opening at the bottom closed.
Break sticks and glue onto the felt ornament. Break sticks to form a tree shape. Hot glue the sticks on to form a tree shape. Hot glue or hand-sew the button on the top.
