a T-shirt Quilt ~ How to Sew a Quilt from Old Tee Shirts
|
|

One of the 1st steps in making a T-shirt quilt. |
| About T-shirt Quilts - |
T-shirt quilts are an awesome
way to hold onto memories. They make a fantastic gift for some one.
The example I will be showing you is a quilt I made from 11 years of
memories at gymnastic competitions from all over the world for my daughter
who competed in National and International Rhythmic and Artistic
gymnastics. (photos of Jessica) |
| Best Fabric to Use - |
The best fabric would be a
cotton or a nice soft flannel. |
| Easy type Pattern - |
The easiest type of T-shirt
quilt to make is to cut and even amount of squares using the same fabric
OR different ones. An ideal square would be 12 - 14 inches. Then cut out
your T-shirts and zigzag them on. |
| Difficult type Pattern - |

| Cost & Fabric Usage -
|
Fabric usage depending on the
size of your quilt will vary from 2 yards to about 4. The cost for
making one of these quilts in minimal because you already have the
T-shirts. |
| Comments - |
This is a VERY FUN and
REWARDING quilt to make. It is also one of the easiest kind of
quilts to make. I
have other t-shirt quilts to make, karate, dance, theatre,
weightlifting, and wrestling. (In my spare time of course.) As I
make them I will share more photos and ideas. |
