How to make a Valentine Quilt Art

Sewing for Valentine's Day

You can create a fabric art Valentine project. It's just like coloring in a coloring book, but you are sewing the shapes and colors on!

You will need:

-scraps of red fabric for art work

-2 pieces of white fabric cut the size you want the quilt art to be

-quilt batting cut the same size as the white fabric

-extra wide double fold bias tape

-heat bond (optional)

You are welcome to use what we have here, but with fabric art there are no rules... you can design what you want. So you can sketch and create your own Valentine quilt art if you want to.
optional - If you prefer use heat bond by following the manufactures instructions.

Cut out your design and art work with red fabric.

Sandwich the quilt batting inside the white fabrics with the pretty sides out.

Arrange on one pretty side of white fabric your art work.  Pin in place through all the layers.

Using a very close zigzag stitch, appliqué the art work on going through all the layers.
Cut the extra wide double fold bias tape to fit the top and bottom of the quilt art. Sandwich the quilt inside the bias tape, pin, and stitch.

Last cut bias tape to fit the sides. Stitch in place. Your Valentine Quilt Art is done!
