Why Make Your own
Clothes?... Sewing is no longer a "Cinderella" subject. Dressmaking at home
can be high fashion, and you can now make exciting outfits that have nothing
homemade about them. We no longer spend hours upon hours sewing by
hand along endless seams but we approach sewing in a new frame of mind:
design it - make it - wear it.
Whether it's a
working women or man who has their own seamstress or tailor, or stay
at home mom who sews her children's clothes, there is an increasing number
of women, men, and children who sew, and an increasing number of
seamstresses on demand. Fashion design is in, and there is a great demand
for it now with it's high competitive field. But for the person who just
wants to make their own wardrobe or their kids clothes, or a teen who wants
to make their prom dress, it is just as exciting and fun.

right at home. Modern technology has given us a wide range of man-made
fibers and natural ones. These fibers made into beautiful fabrics at
prices we can afford. With internet access, we can order fabrics
from all over the world. Along with great fabrics these days is also
great threads, trims, lace, linings, and interfacings.

they wanted have found that it gives them a new interest and satisfies a
creative impulse, in it's rewarding art. |

there is a large range of aids to dressmaking that helps us tremendously
in our effort to avoid the homemade look. There are so many like:

threads, fashion, fabrics, patterns, information on the world wide web,
night classes, and even internet classes. Many ways to help you become
skilled at converting a flat piece of material into a beautifully shaped
garment!!! |
