Free Christmas Tree Ornament Sewing Pattern:

How to Make a Woodsy Felt  Owl Ornament

You will Need:
9"x12" sheets of rustic felt (I found the rustic felt colors at Michaels Craft store for .20cents each.)
ribbon for handle (or use a metal ornament hook)
fiber fill or stuffing
2 buttons for eyes
moss, sticks, and/or greenery
basic sewing needs

print woodsy owl template

Using the template pin, and cut out two felt owl pieces.
Pin the owl pretty sides together around the outer edge. Put double pins at the bottom as shown 3" apart. These pins indicate to not sew in-between them. That is where you will stuff the owl.
Sew around the owl using the pressure foot as your guide (Or a 1/4" seam allowance.) You can use straight stitch or a decorative stitch if your machine has that option.
Fold the top of the owl down and pin in place as shown.

Stitch the "V" area of the owl. (This will be the face.)

Gently stuff the owl. Do not over-stuff him.

Stitch the opening closed using the same stitch you used before.

Hand sew the button eyes on. Hot glue moss, sticks, or greenery to complete your woodsy owl ornament.

Happy Sewing!
