How to Make Different Size Yarn Pompoms
You Will Need:
different color yarn
card stock or cardboard
basic crafting supplies

All you need to make a yarn pompom is yarn, scissors, and a piece of cardboard. When making Yarn Pompoms you will need:

yarn, scissors, and cardboard or card stock.

The size of your yarn pompom is determined by how big the cardboard pattern is. The size of your yarn pompom will be will be determined by the size of your card stock.  In the photo to the left I made 3 different card stock sizes, which gave me 3 different size pompoms as you can see.  Just have fun and play around with it until you get the size you want.
To make a yarn pompom wrap the yarn around the cardstock. Start by winding the yarn around the folded card stock.
To make a yarn pompom wrap yarn around a piece of cardstock the size you want the pompom. Wind and wind until your little hand gets tired! The thickness of your pompom will be  determined by how much yarn you use when winding it around.
If you want a real thich and round pompom, then add lots and lots of yarn. Once you think you have the thickness you want, take a 9 inch piece of yarn and slip it through in between the yarn and the cardstock and tie a very tight knot at the top making sure you have caught all the yarn.
Cut the bottom of the gathered yarn to form a pompom. At the other end slip a pair of scissors through the fold ends of all the yarn and snip.
The the bottom of your yarn pompom you just made. Trim the ends of your yarn on the pompom so that the bottom of the pompom is even.
